Klezmer Shabbat Service, Kol Ami - January 5th, 2008
	Come join Lox & Vodka’s Caron Dale as she co-leads a Klezmer Shabbat Service for Kol Ami, northern Virginia’s Reconstructionist Community. This Shabbat Service combines the ruach (spirit) of joyous and soulful Shabbat, klezmer and Chassidishah music into the weave of Beth Ami’s Shabbat which includes rest, healing and community connection. Saturday, January 5th 10:00-12:00 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, 4444 Arlington Boulevard; SW corner of George Mason Dr and Rt 50. Everyone is welcome!

LOX & VODKA is Washington, DC's widely acclaimed Klezmer, Jewish band offering an enchanting, entertaining and emotionally enriching ethnic experience. We perform lively and spirit filled music. Audiences can expect to be active participants in a LOX & VODKA concert, learning songs in foreign languages and clapping to Klezmer rhythms.  Our hora is action-packed and, when we teach an audience full of enthusiastic listeners to folk dance, the atmosphere is electric!

Humor is an essential element for us and we include a great deal of it in our concerts.  From joy and laughter to pulling on the audience’s heartstrings, there's a story to be told and we tell it in a way no other band does!

"Caron Dale, leader of D.C.'s excellent klezmer band Lox and Vodka, is also an early childhood educator, and this charming CD is the product of her work under that hat.  Imagine Woody Guthrie's children's songs gone Jewish, and you'll have some idea what this set is like.  Most of the musicians are members of Lox and Vodka, so the musicianship is on a pretty high level, but young children will be utterly unintimidated.  And adults will be pleased too.  Not the sort of thing I normally care for, but this is a keeper."
